Motorcycle Fairings FAQ: Fitment, Paint, Shipping & Installation
Find clear answers about NiceFairings motorcycle fairing kits, including model and year fitment, injection-molded ABS construction, custom paint, production time, international shipping, installation and after-sales support.
Before Ordering
How do I know which fairing kit fits my motorcycle?
Use the exact brand, model and year range shown on the product page. Fairing shapes, headlights, air ducts, tail sections and mounting points can change between generations, even when the motorcycle name stays the same. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering with clear details and photos of your motorcycle.
Why do the exact model and year range matter?
A kit made for another generation may use different mounting tabs, panel joints, headlight openings or air-duct shapes. Do not choose a kit only because the model name looks similar. The stated fitment range on each product page is the starting point for compatibility.
What information should I send for a fitment check?
Send the motorcycle brand, exact model, model year and clear photos showing the front, both sides and the area where the replacement panels will mount. If you already ordered, include the order number. Do not send sensitive ownership documents unless our support team specifically explains why they are needed.
Are NiceFairings products OEM parts?
No. NiceFairings kits are aftermarket replacement body panels and are not manufactured or endorsed by the motorcycle manufacturer. They are designed for the models and year ranges listed on each product page and offer custom color and graphic options that are generally not available with OEM replacement panels.
Can I buy a single replacement panel instead of a complete kit?
Single-panel availability depends on the motorcycle, panel and paint design. A separately painted panel may not match an older kit or OEM paint exactly. Contact us with photos and details so we can check availability and explain the likely color-matching limitations.
Materials, Fitment & Kit Contents
What are NiceFairings motorcycle fairings made from?
Our primary complete fairing kits are made from injection-molded ABS plastic. ABS offers a practical balance of shape consistency, flexibility, surface finish and durability for painted street motorcycle bodywork. Always check the individual product page for the specification of the exact kit you are considering.
What does injection-molded ABS mean?
Injection molding forms heated ABS plastic inside a model-specific mold. This produces repeatable panel shapes, tabs and contours and is different from hand-laid fiberglass or loosely formed universal bodywork. Final fit still depends on choosing the correct kit and on the condition and alignment of the motorcycle's mounting hardware.
How do aftermarket fairings compare with OEM fairings?
OEM panels are original manufacturer parts and are the reference for factory construction and fit. Aftermarket fairings can provide a more affordable complete appearance change and wider custom-paint options. They should not be described as OEM parts, and careful test fitting and alignment may be required during installation.
Are the mounting holes and tabs already formed?
Complete model-specific kits are produced with their main mounting features formed for the listed motorcycle. Because models and kit contents vary, check the individual product description and the received parts before installation. Do not drill or trim a painted panel before contacting us if something appears incorrect.
Will the fairings fit without any adjustment?
The panels are designed for the exact model and year range listed, but aftermarket bodywork may need careful alignment or minor adjustment. Bent fairing stays, damaged brackets, missing spacers, worn rubber grommets or earlier crash repairs can also create gaps or apparent hole misalignment.
What is included in a complete fairing kit?
The main painted body panels are included according to the kit configuration shown on the product page. Windscreens, heat protection, bolt kits, tank covers, seat cowls and smaller trim pieces can vary by motorcycle and product. Review the product images and description, then contact us before ordering if a specific component is essential.
Can I mix NiceFairings panels with OEM or other aftermarket panels?
Mixed panels may not align or match in color because different manufacturers use different molds, paint systems and tolerances. For the most consistent appearance and panel junctions, use a matched complete kit. Ask us before ordering if you plan to combine panels from different sources.
Custom Paint & Design
Can I customize the colors, graphics, name or race number?
Yes. You can request color changes, names, numbers, logos, racing-inspired graphics or a new design direction. Visit the Custom Fairings page and send clear references so we can confirm what is practical before production.
Can I send a reference photo or drawing?
Yes. A clear photo, drawing or screenshot can help communicate layout, color balance and graphic placement. References guide the design; they are not a guarantee of an exact copy because panel shapes, image quality, paint materials and production methods differ.
Can you match my fuel tank or factory paint color?
We can work toward a close visual match when you provide clear daylight photos and useful color information. An exact match cannot be guaranteed because aged factory paint, different surface materials, lighting, camera exposure, screens and paint batches can all change how a color appears.
Will I confirm the design before production starts?
For custom orders, we confirm the motorcycle fitment, main colors, graphic direction and important personalization details before production. Review names, numbers, spelling and placement carefully. Changes requested after design work, painting or production begins may not be possible and may add cost or time.
Will I receive finished photos before shipping?
Finished photos can be provided before dispatch whenever possible. They help you review the completed appearance before the kit is packed. Photographs are still affected by studio lighting, camera settings and your screen, so minor visual color differences can occur.
Why can the finished color differ slightly from my screen?
Phones and monitors reproduce color differently, while metallic, pearl, candy, fluorescent, matte and gloss finishes change with light and viewing angle. Handmade masking and painting can also create small reasonable differences from a digital reference. These normal variations are not necessarily defects.
Production, Pricing & Order Changes
Are the fairing kits in stock or made to order?
Most custom painted motorcycle fairing kits are made to order for the confirmed motorcycle, year range, colors and design details. A product image shows the intended style, but your kit still needs to be produced, painted, inspected and packed.
How long does production take?
Most custom painted fairing kits require about 15-25 business days for production after fitment and design details are confirmed. Complex artwork, order volume, holidays or necessary corrections can extend this estimate.
When does the production estimate begin?
The estimate begins after the motorcycle model and year, colors, design direction and important custom details have been confirmed. Time spent waiting for customer information or approval is not part of the production period.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact us as soon as possible. An order may be cancelled before production begins. Once design work, custom production or painting has started, cancellation or major changes may not be possible because the kit is being made for your request. See our Refund and Return Policy for the complete terms.
Shipping, Customs & Delivery
Do you ship motorcycle fairings internationally?
NiceFairings serves riders in many countries and regions. Available destinations and the shipping charge are shown at checkout. If your country is unavailable, contact us before ordering so we can check whether delivery is possible.
Is shipping included in the product price?
No, unless a product or promotion clearly states otherwise. Shipping is calculated and displayed at checkout based on the delivery country or region.
How long does international shipping take?
After dispatch, international shipping usually takes about 10-20 business days. Customs clearance, the destination, local carrier handling, holidays, weather and other events outside our control can affect delivery time.
How long will my complete order take?
Most orders take an estimated 25-45 business days in total: approximately 15-25 business days for production plus about 10-20 business days for shipping after dispatch. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. See Production & Shipping for details.
Will I receive a tracking number?
Tracking information is provided after the package has been dispatched and the carrier has created the shipment record. Initial scans can take time to appear, and international tracking may pause between export, customs and local-carrier events.
Do I have to pay import duties, VAT or customs fees?
Import duties, VAT, customs fees and carrier handling charges may be collected by the destination country's authorities or carrier. They are the customer's responsibility and are not included in the product price or shipping fee unless clearly stated otherwise.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
Contact us immediately. An address may be corrected only if the order has not been shipped and the carrier can accept the change. Additional shipping costs may apply. Always check the complete address, phone number and email before placing the order.
Installation & Care
Can I install a motorcycle fairing kit myself?
An experienced owner may be able to install a kit with suitable tools and the motorcycle's service information, but professional installation is recommended. Fairing assemblies contain many overlapping panels and small support parts, and poor alignment or overtightening can damage painted ABS.
What should I do before installation?
Unpack carefully, photograph the packaging, identify every part and inspect the finish before fitting anything. Compare the new and original panels, check the motorcycle's brackets and fasteners, and test-fit the complete assembly before final tightening.
Should I reuse my original bolts, grommets and brackets?
Keep all original hardware until installation is complete. Model-specific rubber grommets, well nuts, collars, spacers and brackets may need to be transferred or replaced if worn. Missing or bent support parts can make correctly shaped panels appear not to fit.
What should I do if the holes do not line up?
Stop and confirm the kit, model and year. Loosen nearby panels and align the assembly gradually instead of fully tightening one panel at a time. Inspect the fairing stay, brackets, grommets and spacers for damage or incorrect placement. Contact us with photos or video before drilling, trimming, heating or forcing a painted panel.
How can I protect the paint during installation and use?
Work on a clean padded surface, protect nearby painted motorcycle parts and avoid dragging panel edges. Start fasteners by hand and do not overtighten them. For cleaning, use cool water, mild automotive soap and a soft microfiber cloth; avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents and high-pressure spray at panel edges or decals.
Damage, Missing Parts & After-Sales Support
What should I do if my package arrives damaged?
Keep the package and contact us within 7 days of delivery. Provide the order number, clear photos of the outer box, shipping label, damaged items and all received parts. Do not install, modify or discard the affected item or packaging before we review the claim.
What if an item is missing or I received the wrong part?
Lay out all received parts and photograph the complete set, packaging and shipping label. Send the images, order number and a description through our Contact page. We will compare the shipment with the ordered kit and help with the next steps.
What should I send if a panel does not fit?
Send the order number, motorcycle model and year, photos of the complete motorcycle, the affected mounting area, both the new and original panels, and a short video showing the alignment problem when useful. Do not drill, cut, grind or force the panel before the issue is reviewed.
Can custom painted fairings be returned?
Custom painted fairings are made to order and are generally not eligible for return or refund unless there is a confirmed quality issue, wrong item or major production error caused by us. Approved returns must follow the conditions in our Refund and Return Policy.
How do I contact NiceFairings?
